A while back, I was sent a sample of ENERGYbits to review. My review was fairly neutral, which is about how I would chalk up the run I had the day I tried them. I remember that run because it was hot and humid, but it was also a mid-day long run which is certainly not my norm. I felt somewhat off my game.
And that was that — or so I thought. They recently reached out to me again and sent another sample. I said it in my original review and I’ll say it again: The ENERGYbits crew is a good one. They are good people who believe in their product. How could I say no?
First, what are ENERGYbits? So I won’t sugarcoat it: They are algae. Little bits of algae loaded with protein to help boost energy and athletic performance. They come in the form of little green pills and they smell a little like fish food. No joke. But, get passed that, and you’re good to go.
I put my second sample to the test during Saturday’s 10-miler. I had a great run, just like the 12 miles I put in the previous weekend. Granted, I’ve been training like a crazy woman and have a great base, but here’s the difference: I didn’t need a GU or Shotbloks at the halfway point — and I didn’t feel like the last two miles were heavy and slow. And, when I was done, I still felt good. Really good — like, go-and-play-with-the-kids-all-day good.
And that’s really what ENERGYbits promise: Improvement in your energy, increase in your stamina, clarity of mind and elimination of fatigue. And they are straight from nature, with no caffeine, chemicals, sugar, fructose, etc. Instead, they are made of just one ingredient, spirulina algae, making them chock full of protein — great for recovery, as well.
Have questions? Reach out to them on Twitter. Want to give them a test drive yourself? Here’s how I can help: They are offering a 10% discount if you’re interested in trying them. Just enter the word “BLOG” into the coupon code box on their website and you can apply that to any bags of bits your heart desires.
I confessed to them on Saturday that I wanted to hoard the rest of my sample until my half marathon next month, but they reminded me that any one of their ambassadors can help with a discount, as well. Just search Twitter for #PoweredbyBits and you’ll find links to more testimonials, reviews, ambassadors, and more.
Big thanks — again — to ENERGYbits! Daily running log/mileage to date is below.
