About our blog:
Making It Daily is a shared blog. In 2013, Claire, KHP and Kristen R. launched this blog as a way to track ourselves as we tackled three different 365 projects:
Claire: Wrote every day
KHP: Made art every day
Kristen R: Ran every dayWe did these things every day for one full year. And now, we use this blog as a way to stay connected to another.
Although we still each carve out a little time every week to do these things, we take turns posting occasionally. We're busy working moms, partners, runners, writers, artists and more -- just trying to make it daily.
Got a passion? Join us in making it daily.

Kristen R: December Reflections No. 2 – The Art of Planning Your Runs
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year is planning for my daily running. Sometimes, these plans just fall into place perfectly. Other times, well, life as a mom, wife, friend, daughter and someone susceptible to illness can put … Continue reading

Kristen R: December Reflections – No. 1
I cannot believe the last month of 2013 has arrived. I keep saying to myself, “Finally, it’s here,” while also thinking, “December is here already?” It’s a strange, conflicting feeling. Never have I recorded pieces of my life in regular snippets as … Continue reading

Kristen R: Vacation & running in the rain
I’m just getting back from a quick Thanksgiving trip to Charleston, South Carolina so all I’ve got left to give at the moment is my updated running log and a picture to prove that my vacation runs were anything but … Continue reading

Kristen R: Greetings from Charleston, SC
I am traveling this week. We’ve packed up the family and headed south to Charleston, SC. It’s rainy but the temps are mild, and I was able to squeeze in a quick pre-rain 5k this morning. It’s super flat and … Continue reading

Kristen R: Falling short of self-imposed expectations
Expectations are tricky. We set them high, push ourselves, feel the hope and excitement of trying to meet them, only to be let down from time to time. It’s the let-down that stings. It breaks our spirit, forces us backward … Continue reading

Kristen R: No Rest for the Weary
Can’t give you much today — and I’m sorry for that. I’ve been on the road for work for the last two days and just rolled in at 8:30 p.m. Slogged through a quick mile by 9 p.m. Once I … Continue reading

Kristen R: Richmond Half Marathon Race Recap
I’m just going to come right out and say it: It was not my day. This doesn’t mean it was my worst day, but it wasn’t my best — and certainly wasn’t my day for a PR. Sigh. It happens … Continue reading

Kristen R: Race Day Conditions
First, happy 11/12/13! Second, I don’t want to curse anything, but this might be nice: Our start time is 8:30-ish, so I’m thinking we’ll be running in temps in the mid-50s. That’s not bad at all… Just logging easy miles … Continue reading

Kristen R: Training Week 14 – Tapering
I finished out the week — this morning, actually — with an 8-mile easy run. This was my last long run until the half marathon, which is just one week away. The week was good, but I had a lot … Continue reading
