About our blog:
Making It Daily is a shared blog. In 2013, Claire, KHP and Kristen R. launched this blog as a way to track ourselves as we tackled three different 365 projects:
Claire: Wrote every day
KHP: Made art every day
Kristen R: Ran every dayWe did these things every day for one full year. And now, we use this blog as a way to stay connected to another.
Although we still each carve out a little time every week to do these things, we take turns posting occasionally. We're busy working moms, partners, runners, writers, artists and more -- just trying to make it daily.
Got a passion? Join us in making it daily.

A Day at the Pow-wow
My daughter is one eighth Native American on her dad’s side. Her great grandfather was a full-blood Oglala Sioux Indian who lived on the Pine Ridge reservation. I don’t know much about the (presumably brief) relationship he had with Free’s … Continue reading

Kristen R: Training Week 3 and the Tools of the Trade
Big breath in, now out — and relax. Week 3 has ended on a very — very — good note. I logged a solo 9-miler Saturday morning. Sadly, my running partner was on vacation and I was a bit nervous … Continue reading

KHP – The Last Days of Summer
Next time I post I will have a Kindergartner. I am so excited for her but scared of letting go. I am her net, her protector, her guide, her teacher; I am the arms the swaddle her and navigate her … Continue reading

Claire: Finding My Way
What is our job or duty when there is so much sadness and pain in the world? I asked Newman this question last week as we sat together in front of a campfire. I had been experiencing waves of sadness … Continue reading

Kristen R: Speedwork for the Unspeedy
I’m not a terribly fast runner. Well, let’s be honest: I’m not a fast runner. I’m not a super-slow runner, either. I’m just one of those middle-of-the-pack people. And, let me be clear, I will always be one of those … Continue reading

KHP – What We Leave Behind
What (as the human race) are we leaving behind? What clues are we leaving for the generations in the future? Will it paint an accurate picture of who we are? Would we agree if we were a fly on the … Continue reading
