About our blog:
Making It Daily is a shared blog. In 2013, Claire, KHP and Kristen R. launched this blog as a way to track ourselves as we tackled three different 365 projects:
Claire: Wrote every day
KHP: Made art every day
Kristen R: Ran every dayWe did these things every day for one full year. And now, we use this blog as a way to stay connected to another.
Although we still each carve out a little time every week to do these things, we take turns posting occasionally. We're busy working moms, partners, runners, writers, artists and more -- just trying to make it daily.
Got a passion? Join us in making it daily.

Claire: The Darkness of January
The albatross is a potent symbol in literature, but as seen here, dead due to the ingestion of a crazy amount of trash, it is an even more potent one. I am trying to find a poem. I’m suffering badly … Continue reading
Claire: The Red Tent
The other night, Newman’s daughter invited me to go with her to a Red Tent event. The Red Tent is traditionally a gathering space for women during their time of menstruation; Red Tent gatherings more generally are structured to allow … Continue reading
Claire: Making it Happen
Well, it’s almost come to the end, and I promised myself that I would try to be more specific about how I would make my goals a reality next year. In this post, I laid out goals for next year … Continue reading
Claire: Practicing a Positive Perspective
I just finished reading The Four Agreements, by Miguel Angel Ruiz, which I would recommend to anyone who, like me, is working on being more mindful. Kristen’s post yesterday reminded me of the positive power of the first agreement. I … Continue reading

Claire: Happy Christmas
On Christmas, if we’re lucky, we can take a little time to just be with our loved ones. We run around like crazy leading up to the event to make it perfect, but really, it just takes some time off … Continue reading

Claire: Know Yourself and Share Yourself
I’ve been watching Ted Talks while at the gym, and I watched one the other day about vulnerability and its importance in finding real connections with others. I was thinking about that yesterday when, alone and crying in my car, … Continue reading
Claire: Getting Better at Love
This week, I’m feeling all kinds of schmoopy about my man. I’ve written about him a lot this year, and if you’ve read along, you know we’ve had our ups and downs. It’s been a part of our dynamic since … Continue reading
Claire: How You Look At It
I’ve written about my childhood home a few times over the course of the year. It’s a place that looms large in my memories, and I visit it every time I return to Ireland. I have seen it change over … Continue reading
Claire: Winter Notes
It’s still not winter, technically, but we all know it’s here. At least, those of us in New England know it, and I know we’re not the only ones. I’m doing ok with the season so far, coping through little … Continue reading

Claire: The Day in Haiku
I’m tired after a very busy week behind me and another ahead, so I’m going to revert to haiku to chronicle the best parts of my day. 1. Laughter in my class And my daughter’s open arms I find gratitude … Continue reading
